Intlcutlass
I can play regular store bought cd's fine, but I have never made a cd off the pc that worked. I have tried Imation 700 mb & memorex 650 mb. I have also tried writing these at 2x 4x 12x as well as only putting on 60 min of music. I can't figure it out. Oh and all the cd's I have made play in the wifes car and in the home stereo no problem...Any suggestions.

LukeZ34
Mine always worked just fine. I used mostly the Memorex Black CD-R's and I never had a problem with them or any burned CD.
toastemcutlass
the factory stereos are not made to play cdr's and I used to have this problem too a the light goldish silver and most popular don't work. try buying the darkest blue you can find and I'm sure the black work to, don't know why but when I would use the dark blue they work fine. there are some really cheap cd's from sams club that are really dark blue and work great. godofthunder
I have the factory CD/Tape player. I actually havent had any problems, and I have all types (silver, gold, etc), but blue seem not to work as well. Also, the only really problem I do have playing is when the car is cold, or the CD player is cold, or the CD itself is REALLY cold, the thing give me an error. But this is with real CDs too jon
Steve94CutlassConver.
I burn a ton of stuff off I-MESH , I burn on any cdr I can find , I have tried 12x 16x and now 48x with no problems and all come from MP3 files that are converted to audio cd . So as far as burning MP3 files converted to audio cd , I have no problems and with the better software , you can really make the tunes sound sweet , I am waiting for the in-dash mp3 / XM players to go under 200 bucks and then the delco junk is coming out along with the stock paper cones , Can't hear the tunes very well with the top down : ) ROCK ON !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hambone
i have an '89 cutty with the original cd player still in it. i have found that i need to use cd-rs that were burnt at 1x. for some reason this unit will not play anything burnt past this... as well i have had trouble with the 'cheapo' burners ( lg especially )... plextor work great ( a bit more money but i think it is the laser power calibration that works well with the different dye types used on c-rs ).
