90TGP Posted April 17, 2005 Report Posted April 17, 2005 I know I've seen one before, but I don't want to look through 505 something pages worth of posts. Quote
90TGP Posted April 18, 2005 Author Report Posted April 18, 2005 Cool, you wouldn't happen to have a pic of it next to the fender? Quote
Dannymik Posted April 18, 2005 Report Posted April 18, 2005 go over to *cough* clubgp *cough* and check one out...I know that there are pictures posted of fenderwall intakes in one of those sections. Quote
sl3196 Posted April 18, 2005 Report Posted April 18, 2005 Mines true too I guess. Don't have to worry about water at all. Quote
Aaron Posted April 18, 2005 Report Posted April 18, 2005 I'd like to see a dyno of your's compared to a true fenderwell like mine, I wonder if there would even be a difference... Quote

GTPrix Posted April 18, 2005 Report Posted April 18, 2005 Aarons is a FWI (fenderwell intake) and SL's is a true CAI (cold air intake). Extensive dyno and analysis about the cai is here: http://easyperformance.com/CAI/CAI_Perf_Content.htm I have mixed feelings about fwi setups, as they are exposed to water and dirt way more. Stay out of the puddles... Drew Quote

Aaron Posted April 18, 2005 Report Posted April 18, 2005 I drive mine everyday, through puddles and off road. Not quite literal about the off road.....but puddles are of no concern to me. Rain, snow, ice, slush, I don't care. I have never had a problem. But the CAI is not as prone to getting dirty. My filter is dirty as crap, and I dropped almost 2 tenths by removing it at the track. That is like 20hp! So my filter is working, but it isn't clean... Quote
Dannymik Posted April 18, 2005 Report Posted April 18, 2005 one big difference between the 2 is the price difference...FWI are waaaaay cheaper if you can fab your own. Quote
sonyman87 Posted April 19, 2005 Report Posted April 19, 2005 http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/4/web/436000-436999/436966_98_full.jpg if you still need it i can get a close up of the filter actualy in the fenderwell FWI atleast on my car you have to put the filter on from under the car b/c it wont fit into the hole attached to the intake tube. this requires takin the buttome plastic plate out and relocating the charcole canister or atleast unmounting it Quote
