3x00 top end questions

i know this topic has been done to death. for some reason i'm a little fuzzy on the details after looking through four or five pages of searched topics. maybe someone can clarify for me.

so far what i understand i would need from a 3100 is:

upper and lower intake

heads and exhaust manifolds

coolant pipe from water pump

new pushrods (it's best not to reuse i assume?)

new head bolts(same as above)

roller lifters

do i also need the exhaust crossover pipe, or will the 3.1 crossover work?

does the cam need to be swapped as well, or is there no difference between the roller and non-roller cam?

can i keep the 3.1 airbox and hose?

did the egr valve evolve in any way from 3.1 to 3100, or does it bolt right on?

would i still be using the map sensor, or would that change to the 3100 maf sensor?

realistically, what are the gains? any dyno sheets?

that's all i can think of for now. thanks in advance.

weird maybe that was the later 3100s...i have a map and iat

I've got both a MAF and MAP...the maf's before my IAT, and the MAP is mounted on the back of the plenum....

GM started adding the MAF's to the 3100's in 96. My old 95 GP didn't have one, but my old 96 Lumina did. I would imagine if you were running the setup on your stock PCM, then you could just discard the MAF.

Also, the EGR changed in 96. The 94-95 3100's used the same EGR that the later 3.1's had...

so does my 93 3.1 have the correct egr?
I know for sure that the EGR's were the same from at least 92 thru 95 on both the 3.1 and the 3100. If you go with a top end from a 94-95, your EGR will be plug-n-play. If you get the top-end from a 96-99 3100 or 3400, you can buy an EGR adapter (from 60degreeV6.com's online store) which will allow you to use your 93 EGR on the 96-99 Upper Intake Manifold (UIM)...
