JoroCorona Posted April 12, 2005 Report Share Posted April 12, 2005 The easiestway to check if its the ICM or the coils is to pull a plug wire and see if the car gets worse. It it only gets worse when pulling a plug from a particular coil, then its a coil. It it continually runs crap, its more then likely the ICM. A failed coil would only be intermittant if it was heat related. 95% of the time a failed coil will be a failed coil. Not intermittent. The ICM can cause an intermittent falure by failing to fire a coil everyonce in awhile. But the coil itself cant. Its either bad or good. NO middle ground.
