how far are you trying to move it forward? it should only move a little, like 4-5 inches, when i moved mine last year it was just enough to have plenty of room for the rear plugs

Yeah, after 10 minutes I popped it into neutral, but it's still not going forward far enough to bolt to the engine mounts. The only things you have to disconnect are the dogbones and the coolant reservoir, right?

When I didn't have some one to help me, I just parked the car on a slight grade at the bottom of my driveway. This will help to pull the engine forward. But if you're putting it in neutral, you better be damn sure your parking brake is good enough to hold the car.

So, what you're saying is, there should be nothing else I have to disconnect? Just grip it and rip it?
Just the two dogbone bolts. You have to pull pretty hard unless your Heman. :lol:

I'm curious, how does the exhaust NOT keep this thing from moving? And if the dogbones are the only thing holding the motor still, is it entirely supported by the transaxle?

The transaxle and motor mount(s)* are still holding it in place.

* = 1 engine mount for 2.8/3.1/3100. 2 engine mounts for 3.4,3800.

when I replaced the dogbones on my car, 3100, even though I only took one off at a time it was still really tough to get the motor pulled back enough to replace the one. but like sl3196, have a friend help you with it, cuz with both of you tryin, itll be much easier than just you trying by yourself.

I hooked my dog bones back up real easy, just grabbed back of the motor and pulled it forward with one hand and put in the bolt with the other. Does that mean I've got a bottom mount bad?
