THe_DeTAiL3R
Outter ones are easy to install, just gotta mark down on the thread where the old tie rod end is so you know how far to put the new one on.
GnatGoSplat
Shouldn't take a whole weekend. Inners and outers are easy to install, but the inners needs a special tool that costs something like $30 (a GIANT socket). You also need a new boot clamp because the clamp needs to be cut. Oh yeah, for best results, you should also stake the new inner tierod. The service manual says to use a punch to do it, but there's no way I could see to do that without taking the rack out, so I bought a $75 tool that does a perfect crimp one-handed. I figured it was worth it, I would have paid >$100 in labor and at least this way I have some tools I can keep for my other W's.
