Strecker25
well everytime my car either comes to a full stop, accellerates, shifts hard, or i take cruise control off i get a loud ugly clunk noise. Upper dogbones were replaced, keeps getting worse. I really hate this thing so much right now. Could it be the lowers? and where are they located? Car is a 94 lumina with the 3.
Robby1870
There is a motor mount on the passenger side, basically under the crank pulley. Then there's a tranny mount on the driver side near where teh control arm attaches to the subframe. The motor mount is a hydraulic mount (fluid filled) and is notorious for leaking. Check for fluid/goo near the crank pulley under the car. If its there, the mount is bad. If both lower mounts are good, it maybe something in teh suspension mounts
Daggar
Loose Transmission. It might need to be tightened down as it's rocking back and forth
digitaloutsider
Loose transmission? What the FUCK are you talking about? It's most likely the hydraulic motor mount like Robby said. Those things are pieces of shit.
Brian P
Loose crankshaft. You best get that checked out No, actually, probably the motor mount, lower.
Daggar
Loose transmission? What the FUCK are you talking about? It's most likely the hydraulic motor mount like Robby said. Those things are pieces of shit. I had the same problem on my 3.1 and was told the transmission bolts securing it to the frame where loose. They tightened the bolts and I never had a problem again. But your probably right it's the motor mounts.
digitaloutsider
Sorry for being an ass, When someone says "loose transmission" I think of where the bellhousing attaches to the engine. I was like "WTF?!"
