Yah I know that. But what I was thinking is that the parts aren't abnormal, just sized abnormally. So maybe they can take the parts and machine them down or something. I am not really familiar with trannsmissions, but there ahs to be some tranny that used synchros similiar in size and design.

What MPH are you at at 6,000rpm in 1st?

yea h let me know

I will try to call them tomorrow. We are in the middle of a BLIZZARD and they are already talking that the City of Colorado Springs may get shut down tomorrow morning. If I don't get them tomorrow I will try again Tuesday... 8)

Your TGP was the same way, just not nearly as bad becuz you had a lot less power.

Why what are the HP/Torque specs on this car Brian? 8)

getrag 282 5 spd

can i ask why swapped a 282 instead of a 284 since you are mating it to an engine that gives out more HP and TQ than the LQ1 which came with the 284?

Well the 282 is cheap, easy to find, uses a normal clutch, can be rebuilt, and can be BUILT.

Same reason why I'll be using a 282 behind my built LQ1 in a Fiero.

You should do better as I could only manage a best of a 2.398 the first time I went with my 5 speed TGP. The second I managed a 2.2XX(I don't remember exactly), but it's still not down to the 2.1 I managed to run with the auto. I still ran a 14.6 with a 1/10th worse 60', so I think that shows the possibility of a 14.5 or even a 14.4. Anyways, work on the 60' and you'll get your times down...it just takes practice. 8)

yeah the place i am not working at rented Atco raceway for the day so i will have many runs to get it down...I hope to get at least 10 runs....i should be able to get it back into 13s without a problem. My MPH were good enough for low 13s if i can get the 60 foot time down. I am sure it did not help that the trans was not fully engaging before. I did not have the clutch fully bled. all the problems i was having before went away. I will post again on thursday afternoon with times and the sheets.

manual are slowe in general because you have to shift not the computer but i did it more for fun.

I plan on doing headers and intercooler by june time frame. I would like to run low 13s by the end of the summer with the 5 speed

Well in most applications a 5-speed will be much faster, but in your's, it will be close. With the gearing and all of that power, the 4T65e would have dealt with it very nicely.
