rudefyet
what could it be? IAC or TPS? considering i don't know how either of the two really work, that's why i'm wondering If the IAC opens up when you mash the gas, then that is obviously my problem, but I'm not sure if it does...anyone? THe_DeTAiL3R
maybe the IAC.. when I forgot to connect mine it was almost redlining.. lol Also check your throttlebody that it's all tightened up properly otherwise it will give you problems (and possibly a code too). rudefyet
it's not a recent problem...it's been doing this well before i took the top end of my engine off i know the engine idles real high with the IAC disconnected, but that's all the farther my knowledge goes

TeeJay3800
Maybe try pulling the IAC and cleaning it with Simple Green or something. It helped on my car. I dunno, just a thought.....
rudefyet
good idea i'll do that when i get home...i don't have $32 for a new one right now
THe_DeTAiL3R
Hell yeah, if your IAC is dirty it will run like shit. Made a world of difference on my 2.8!
z34_nut
my throttle stuck because of a vaccum hose running behind my plenum was rubbing a hot fuel line... it burnt through the vaccum, and caused my throttle to stick. It was a vaccum to the cruise control modual. basically it would automatically "unstick" when i tapped the breaks. as for your problem with the low RPM and stall, it could be a bad torque converter. also try to lub up the throttle cable with WD-40...that works too. 19Cutlass94
also what could happen is from the EGR valve, carbon is recycled to get better gas mileage and the back of the throttlebody is on spot where the carbon builds up and the other is the port from the throttlbody to the EGR valve. I had to clean both on my car when it had about 75k so if youve never cleaned those on your car, there could be alot of buildup. you can pick up a can of intake cleaner which should do the job for the throttlebody, the other one is a bitch to clean. once mine was clean, i had no more problems with the throttle andi actually pick up a couple mpg's
rudefyet
i cleaned out the IAC today idled pretty rough at first, but now it runs great, no more stalling at lights, and the engine doesn't almost stall when i hit the gas anymore either I even gunned it on the highway a few times and no throttle stickage so far so good I'm gonna tackle the rear brakes Monday...this thing is gonna be running 100% in no time
88Regal Limited
Throttle sticking.... I hope you wern't flooring it. WD40 and ductape are tools that fix anything
