Psych0matt Posted April 5, 2005 Report Posted April 5, 2005 I had this problem last summer, but it seemed to fix itself for a while, but now it's back. Basically the top won't go completely down on the passenger side. it's like something is stuck or wedged in there keeping it about an inch from the little bump stop. it's really annoying because the boot doesn't like to stay on over there and it's driving me nuts that it wont go all the way down. has anyone else had this or heard of this? NORBI Posted April 5, 2005 Report Posted April 5, 2005 Sounds like a problem i had with my convertible, first i wouldnt go down all the way then it started loosing power going up and needed help for top to go up and i have been through 4 motors for the top in less then a year. Good thing i had a warranty on it but i would have it checked out before it gets worse. Quote
kcac Posted April 5, 2005 Report Posted April 5, 2005 My top does something similar. My guess is it's the convertible top hydraulic cylinder on that side of the car. I posted this excerpt from the factory manual a while back for someone else - it might help you diagnose the problem. http://www.polar.icestorm.com/sfl/cutlass/convertible_top_info.pdf Quote
