In everyone's opinion, Which 1st generation W-body looks the best from the factory? Which one appeals to you the most? Only factory equipment available.

damn, thats not cool, i can't vote for 2 cars! I think the Grand Prix and the Buick Regal are both awesome looking cars. The Buick Regal I think of as more a sports touring styles car ( in the 2 door) and the Grand Prix I think of more a sporty coupe car (in the 2 door of course)

I think there all great looking cars..... but Im really fond of first gen GTP's,

I just love the way they look, so I bought 1

yay!

I'm just gonna list my opinion in best to worst order starting with coupe's:

1. 94-96 Grand Prix's

2. Regal Gransport

3. Lumina Z-34

4. Cutlass

Now for sedans:

1. Cutlass

2. Lumina

3. Regal

4. Grand Prix

I just noticed after I finshed the list that they go in opposite order thats pretty f!@#ed up

Cutlass Supreme coupe w/factory ground-effects, for its high-tech look with the hidden "C" pillar, clean and smooth curves, great profile, and understated sportiness. For factory equipment, Cutlass has the best useful options: Auto Climate Control, best DIC.

Grand Prix Turbo coupe w/B4U for its aggressive styling that's unmistakeably American, and I like the composite headlamps w/yellow fogs and rear tails with amber signals which give it a very European flair.

Those are my two favs.

My ratings list would be almost the opposite of gpimp's:

Coupes:

1. Cutlass Int'l

2. GP w/B4U

3. Regal GS (places higher than Z34 due to factory equipment)

4. Lumina Z34 (nice swoopy looks but not enough toys)

Sedans:

1. GP (Turbo STE)

2. Cutlass Int'l

3. Regal GS

4. Lumina

With some mod's cuttlass coupes would rank 1rst or 2nd on my list the red cutlass on the very first page of youre site is a perfect example. I think cutlass coupes need to be wrapped in extermly dark tint to look right

Posted

IMO all cars need tint to look right. :)

The one at the top of the page is just my car with rims and tint.

They're all just SO sexy:)

I was going to try and make a list, but it was just TOO difficult...

I hear that!

I'm soooo tempted to add a Regal GS coupe to my collection.

Must resist! Not enough space!

Gotta move out into the country. :)

illl be the first to admit first gen 4 grand prix's are the ugliest godforsaken things ive ever seen in my life. i know first hand i owned one and even i'd admit it was ugly (and yet i still liked it, in a sentimental sort of way i guess heheh. heres my list

FULLY loaded 2dr

grand prix 88-96

lumina z34

Regal and cutty ties for 3rd....this doesnt mean bad, just such a slight margain between 2nd and 3rd they ended up being 3rd. also because i dont know much about their options and changes between the years

base 2door

all are ugly and suck

4 door loaded or base -also all ugly imo

cutty

lum

grand prix

Most cars look 2x better with tint and Cutlass's look 10x better.

I'm talking about the all red pic on the first page, it looks the same but with out silver ground fx. They are both nice pic's but I perfer the all red look its sweet.

Even though I love the under-driven styling of my Cutlass, the best results have come from the Lumina Z34's. When debadged and cleaned up, it looks like they weren't made in the early 90's... To this day I still drool for SuperBuick's "Z". However, I like the interior of the Grand Prix over all of them. The red-lit dash and controls are more user friendly when rounded off...

But, I still appriciate, to even this day, my Cutlass. It's has aspects of all the W-Body cars, unfortunatly it doesn't stand out like the rest of the 'flashy' crowd.

Oh, that one is my first Photoshop hack.

It's been butchered all over.

The body kit is a result of Photoshop's smearing tool.

I like cutlass coupes I just think the require alittle more exterior work the other W-body's.

1. 88-91 CS

2. 88+ Regal

3. 91-96 GP

4. 92-97 CS

5. 88-90 GP

6. 90-94 Lumina (my dad owning one doesn't help the Chev's out much...)

note: Gen 1 only.

Actually after the 88-91 CS and the Regals, all the others are neck in neck.
