Schudini Posted April 4, 2005 Report Posted April 4, 2005 My GP NEEDS paint. I was always a fan of the blackout look, but my new rims are anthracite so I was thinking of painting my GP Gunmetal Metallic. So, I need your opinion on this Thanks. http://www.eng.usf.edu/~schumach/index_files/GP1_dark Quote
supreme_style21 Posted April 4, 2005 Report Posted April 4, 2005 I think I'll be the only one to say this, but I don't get the black-rim look. Quote
terryk2003 Posted April 4, 2005 Report Posted April 4, 2005 i dunno...i don't think it looks very good in that picture...BUT, i think if you go with the right color it could be niiice!... Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted April 4, 2005 Report Posted April 4, 2005 it looks a tad bit too euro-goth. Quote
GnatGoSplat Posted April 4, 2005 Report Posted April 4, 2005 It should look pretty good. There's a Mazda 6 on my work's parking lot that's dark metallic gray with gunmetal wheels and it looks pretty sharp. It's not what I would want for myself, but I liked it. Quote
runt Posted April 4, 2005 Report Posted April 4, 2005 I think I'll be the only one to say this, but I don't get the black-rim look. Nope, your not the only one. Quote
skiiirt Posted April 4, 2005 Report Posted April 4, 2005 There is nothing to"get" its a preference. Quote
Schudini Posted April 4, 2005 Author Report Posted April 4, 2005 The dark rim look is basically because I hate chrome! (well, that's not true, I hate the ghetto look that some people like. You know the chrome-plated plastic bits all over the car) Chrome looks good on some stuff, mostly aircraft and boats. Anyway, I also hate those fake bolts on wheels to make them look like 3-piece wheels. So in looking for rims that are easier to clean than the crosslaces, not chrome, 8 inches or wider that actually fit my GP, I came across these. I also wanted to have a GP in a non-stock color, so I figured why not match the wheels. Quote
cutlsp Posted April 4, 2005 Report Posted April 4, 2005 looks sweet i bet you can get some new window tint that matches the color of the body to go with that look Quote
EurosportZ34 Posted April 4, 2005 Report Posted April 4, 2005 no black rims...maybe a tad lights grey paint though....very nice photochop too BTW Quote
FreakingGomer Posted April 4, 2005 Report Posted April 4, 2005 I recently put aftermarket wheels on my cutlass, went with a split 5 spoke 17" sliver painted, and like them, but I have alwaty liked black wheels so I got myself some black/dark grey, with a chrome polished lip ( http://www.aewheel.com/msr/wheels_detail.cfm?id=243 ) to be exact and I love 'em, the window tint plus these wheels actually makes the teal green cutlass look good, still a 50-50 vote on which wheels look better among my friends though. 90TGP Posted April 4, 2005 Report Posted April 4, 2005 Lexus Silver http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/8/web/572000-572999/572444_4_full.jpg http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/8/web/572000-572999/572444_10_full.jpg Quote

Darkness Posted April 6, 2005 Report Posted April 6, 2005 I was thinking about the gun metal gray on my TGP. When I had my Harleys I got into the groove of making my ride a little different from everyone else and can't shake it now. Besides, chances are I am never going to sell it for the collector value at it's current mileage! Your GP looks darn good with the gray paint. Gives me an idea what mine will look like. I'll most likely polish the lip on my TGP wheels and shook the centers black. Quote
Schudini Posted April 6, 2005 Author Report Posted April 6, 2005 I tried it in silver; looks ok, but don't want to live with it. btw if anyone wants a "quick" photoshop of their car, just ask. Quote
THe_DeTAiL3R Posted April 6, 2005 Report Posted April 6, 2005 I love Lexus silver on B4U GPs... I don't like gunmetal.. I see it on those H2s all blinged out on TV I say red, black, silver, or Petty blue. Quote
