5speedz34 Posted April 2, 2005 Report Posted April 2, 2005 If you could get a Homelink transmitter from a like a car w/a overhead console, how hard would it be to wire one up? Quote
1990lumina Posted April 3, 2005 Report Posted April 3, 2005 If it is all contained in a one unit all you'd need it a constant power source. Quote
DiscoStudd Posted April 3, 2005 Report Posted April 3, 2005 I've seen some HomeLink units up for auction on eBay and they say it's a simple 3-wire hook up. I'd imagine the 3 are 12v+, ground, and illumination dimmer. Here's a seller that has HomeLink transmitters up for auction quite often... Quote
GutlessSupreme Posted April 3, 2005 Report Posted April 3, 2005 Some cars have them in the sun visors too, if you didn't want an overhead console.. Quote
cutlsp Posted April 3, 2005 Report Posted April 3, 2005 wtf is a home link is it a garage door opener or what? Quote
1990lumina Posted April 3, 2005 Report Posted April 3, 2005 Yeah it is an intergrated garage door opener in the overhead console or other places. Maybe that other wire is for some kind of anteanna...I've never seen a homelink that actually has a backlight which would require the dimmer wire - Jeff L. Quote
