z34_nut
Well i'm kinda pissed, turning into wal-mart today i saw this shoot out from the rear of my car... i drove it right home, but i can't find any physical part on the monoleaf (assuming thats where its from) where this part would go. i assum thats about half of it, i didn't take a very good picture, but it snapped on one side.. a little help? slick
Looks like part of the monoleaf.
pitzel
Might be something holding the fuel tank in place. I haven't been underneath mine lately, but thats what I'd suspect if you can't pin it down to the monoleaf.
z34_nut
Looks like part of the monoleaf. well thats what i assume, what i'm gonna end out doing is replacing everything suspension on this car before i sell it, i was gonna fix the rust this weekend, but it looks like more suspension problems have arrived... but that picture shows the whole part. that part accualy snapped on one side, just so people don't get confused. White93z34
definately NOT from the monoleaf. unless the underside of your cars got some horrid ghetto rigging i can't place what that is. possably part of the rear suspension?? (can't see it very whell in the picture) i seriously am confused...the part has a gradual arc in it, and i can't say that it would fit anything other then the mono leaf...? EDIT: looks like a single leaf off a leaf spring set-up, mabey it was a part of the mono leaf that broke off. possibly there for regitity? z34_nut
maybe its a peice of random metal you drove over and kicked up i wish i could say that, but i heard some-thing scraping coming from my car as i was driving through town, i had my g/f stay behind me to see if she could figure out what it was, but i did when i hit the bump just before the turn into wal-mart... and trust me, as big as it is, i am pretty sure i would have noticed it in the parking lot..(ever since i drove over a soda bottle with nails in it, i keep an eye on whats laying on the road)

White93z34
the monoleaf is a fiber type spring and when they break the ends generally get all frayed. i've replaced monoleafs before, unless its another piece of suspension i coulden't tell ya wouthout better pictures. GnatGoSplat
I have never seen anything like that. Does it have any markings or writing on it? It's definitely not a factory part of the monoleaf. Could be some shop's clever way to fix the PO's sagging rear-end problem. He may never have known what was done to fix it. Although if it doesn't ride any different, then it looks like just some random piece of metal that might have gotten caught down there. It could have been wedged tight down there even before you got the car.
Jcrow
I would think if it was your monoleaf, your ass-end would be dropped to the ground
pwmin
its not the monoleaf, but as stated before it could have been some sort of helper spring. make sure the bolts are tight, you know the ones that hold up the bracket that have that exhaust hanger. i wouldnt worry about it other than that. i dont know of anything on the suspension that looks like that. its too big to be a fuel tank strap. ya got me
mfewtrail
I also don't recall seeing anything like that, I'll look under my SE tomorrow and see if I can find anything like that on there since it's already sitting on jackstands. My theory is that walmart now employs some type of "metal shooter" to flatten your tires since most have the little tire/oil change shop.
