Guest Anonymous Posted March 31, 2005 Report Posted March 31, 2005 anyone ever installed hood louvres on a non-louver car? Would it be worth it to install them, or just swap the hood and repaint it? Quote
J Posted March 31, 2005 Report Posted March 31, 2005 if u mean gp louvers it would take some precise measuring but i can be done. Z34 no way in hell Quote
mfewtrail Posted March 31, 2005 Report Posted March 31, 2005 "Gearhead43" installed the TGP/91-93 GTP style louvers on a non-louvered hood. If you have a louvered hood car handy, then draw up a template and then lay it on the non-louvered hood and you should be able to cut them pretty close. Quote
R Dubya Posted March 31, 2005 Report Posted March 31, 2005 it would be cheaper to have the red hood painted blue than to cut holes.. unless you do it yourself. Quote
no1kicker Posted March 31, 2005 Report Posted March 31, 2005 I would paint the red hood blue. You have to paint the louvers anyways. Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted March 31, 2005 Report Posted March 31, 2005 Im probably just going to paint the louvred hood blue- im sure they can match the paint, its not faided or anything... Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted March 31, 2005 Report Posted March 31, 2005 I wouldn't recommend it. wouldn't reccomend what? Quote
slick Posted March 31, 2005 Report Posted March 31, 2005 I wouldn't recommend it. wouldn't reccomend what? Cutting the hood, unless you are totally sure that you can do it correctly. I say find a louvered hood. It'll be cheaper. Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted March 31, 2005 Report Posted March 31, 2005 Im probably going to get a louvre hood repainted. Quote
White93z34 Posted March 31, 2005 Report Posted March 31, 2005 get the hood repainted with the louvers. much better results. since you say that the paint isan't faded just get your paint code off the RPO tag and take the hood and louvers to a good body shop and tell them what you want. Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted March 31, 2005 Report Posted March 31, 2005 I'll probably get the b4u nose repainted as well, now that IS faded... and looks not so nice compared to the rest of the car, which glistens like morning dew in the rising sun on freshly cut lawn in the most prestigeous of estates.
