R Dubya
It has been done by drilling a hole in the fender well, just make sure its clean before you go sliding the cam through the hole. There is a writeup somewhere.. I could search for it but then again you could too
89SupremeCutty
I think I need a cam because when I open the throttle I can hear it backfiring through the intake. I want to buy an aftermarket cam, but I don't know how big of a cam i should go with. I wanna get some performance outta this car with out spending too much. I know alot about the Chrysler FWD cars and vans, but not a lot about GM cars. Thanks again for the help.
JoroCorona
you sure its not just badly timed?
Justin
There's quite a few cams available for the 60*. I'd love to build my 2.8 up with either the ARI phase 2 cam, or the Crane 2020 compucam. http://www.engine-parts.com/GMV6/28camspecs.html
89SupremeCutty
you sure its not just badly timed? The motor runs perfect at all rpm's just backfires through the intake. I thought it was the cam but someone also told me it could be the lifters or a bad valve.
JoroCorona
Yeah, Cams general dont cause that kind of a condition. I'd check for leaky valves.
