Synergy6915
Figured if i was going to get an accurate answer this is the best place. I have owned my lumina since 1999, in 2001 i found out that the car's engine had been replaced with a snap-on replacement motor. I had brought it in because i'd been having trouble with getting heat from the heater. Turned out the car had blown a head gasket and was leaking coolant so everytime i drove it the temp guage would max out but i would get nothing but icy cold air out the heat registers. I really dont know how to explain it but took it in and had it fixed just the same. For the past 6 months its started to do it again. Except this time im getting partial heat from the car and the temp gauge stays near minimum levels. Additionally since we are now in spring and its getting warmer the car is pegging right at maximum temperature. I have taken it in and they cant figure out what is wrong with it. It is not leaking any coolant and i really do try to baby it. Even though its an old car it runs normally quite well. Any tips for me guys/gals? Im really stumped here and unfortunately i lack the automotive knowledge to know if the dealer is full of shit or not. Thanks. It's a stock 96 Lumina with the 3.
