My 1993 Luminia was smoking from no where out of the engine on the way to work nearby the house. At first, I thought my engine overheated and coolant is everywhere. I popped the hood and I found transmission fluid everywhere in the engine instead. I tried to drive it home but transmission won't go into drive and now it won't even drive at all. Toll truck tolled the car home. The transmission fluid is leaked everywhere. I last dropped my pan back in December or about 6000 miles ago. It is raining outside but where can I start looking for problems for the leak? At worst, the transmission overheated and blown itself without fluid. How much would a rebuild of 4T60E cost? What else can the problem be?

well first mistake was trying to drive it knowing that it had a trans fluid leak.

i'd look at the cooler lines, they can rust out over time, also check the trans cooler.

Is the transmission cooler line metal or rubber? Are they are all under the radiator?

Your transmission cooler lines usually run from the tranny along the bottom of your radiator or AC condensor to the passenger side of the radiator on the bottom. There are 2 lines, one going out to the radiator, and one coming back to the tranny. I just replaced the ones on my Bonne, and it was a fairly easy task.

Someone sugguested me to check the transmission module on the side of the transmission? Does anyone know where is it? It should be on the side of the transmission on the 4T60E transmission.
