Hey guys im looking at a mint 2000 GTP with only 43k on it. The only problem is The abs light is on and i believe he said the traction control is stuck on. The abs light im assuming is from the wheel speed sensor. When i drove the car it didnt seem like it was performing like it should. the acceleration was good but then again im currently driving a 94 gp so just about anything is good.Could it be from the traction control being stuck on? I checked the supercharger and there was no play in the pulley what so ever. Any ideas fellas?

Did you try hitting the tcs button (to off) and roasting the tires? If the traction control is on it will spin briefly and then reduce power and the low trac light will come on. If off it should spin them pretty good! :D

no it had bad tires on it but hes putting new ones on it before i go to pick it up this next weekend. Will the tcs really down grade the acceleration that much?

No it accels smooth. just didnt have that kick to it i was expecting. the boost gauge it think was reading full boost. im thinking it it because the tcs was on. it put you back alittle bit but i know they should have more power than that.

like Dan said in the earlier post...if you mash the pedal it will spin fpr a brief moment then loose power. I can spin the shit out of my tires in a GT, so I'd expect more in a GTP. You think that resetting the computer would help with the TCS light?

If the ABS light is on the the "TCS OFF" light is also on, you have a wheel hub sensor problem. There's no way that the ABS light can be on and still have working traction control, since they're basically the same system. NOW, a Series II 3800 can retard timing if it detects too much wheel slippage (to prevent damage).

so what your saying is the lack of power could be from the wheel speed sensor being messed up, because the abs and tcs are basically the same system? Makes sense to me. thanks i will have hime check up on that before i buy it.
