Is this my Fuel Pump?

Recommended Posts

For some reason, my 89 Supreme started doing this a few weeks ago...I don't know if it will get better when the temperature goes above 10 degrees farenheit...

When I'm at a Stop, if I try to accelerate somewhat quickly, the car stutters until I've got steady speed...but, if I just accelerate slowly and smoothly, it doesn't do it...

I'm 90% sure my fuel pump is "lazy"...

How old is the fuel filter? That would be a cheap place to start. I had that problem once and changing the filter seemed to fix it.

What brand is it? Mine was less than 6 months old when it happened. Mine was a fram. That's why I won't buy anything fram. That and my TGP won't hardly run if I use one of their air filters.

Check the air filter also. May not be the problem but do all the cheapest checks first.

I had the same problem this summer. After 200 miles of trying to figure it out, it turned out the car had fried the ignition coil and was only firing 5 of the cylinders
