GP1138
Just a couple of pix of my engine post-3400-swap. The EGR pipe is still sitting there, I need to block it off. Chris, your ghetto EGR blockoff is still holding. I'm surprised.

GP1138
Notice much improvement over the 3100? Not a hell of a lot, but enough to make it worth the time. It pulls through the upper RPM range a lot more noticeably. And I like the plenum over the 3100's.

It pulls through the upper RPM range a lot more noticeably. And I like the plenum over the 3100's. That would make it worth it for me! I can tell you first hand that the pre-2000 3100's fall flat on their face at higher RPM's. Now if you swapped in a complete 3400 motor, you'd notice a sizeable jump in HP and TQ, putting your car on par with a Series I 3800 (L27.) Going by the numbers listed in the owners manuals of both my Impala and Regal, the Impala's 3400 has 180hp/205tq and the Regal's L27 has 170hp/225tq (and I'd say the seat-of-the-pants dyno has them neck and neck.) White93z34
haha my EGR blockoff was the best... considering i made it at what 2am all it really is is a slot cover (the metal L shaped ones) from a computer cut down with a piece of old upper intake gasket acting as the gasket of it held in by the origional 2 EGR bolts. THe_DeTAiL3R
Did you swap the whole engine or just the top end onto your 3100??

Yes, coming off the highway. Eventually I plan on getting a minivan 3400 plenum, and the 60*V6 adapter and putting my EGR back on, but I don't have the cash right now.
