john99gtp
Im planning on doing my valve cover gaskets later today, and would like to know if there is a certain torque I torque the bolts down to. Anyone with a service manual, can you please look that up for me thanks John[/i]

GTPrix
I need to do this as well. Both the front and rear gaskets are leaking  The front looks pretty straight forward, however the rear might pose some difficulty. John - You might want to search for a writeup on how to install rockers, becuase I found a decent writeup that will help with the valve covers (which must be taken off to do the rockers). If I can find the link i'll post it. Drew
john99gtp
that would be cool im being told i was close with the nuts, but the bolts themselves have to be taken off. Theres so much sludge on my engine. damn gaskets!
Dannymik
Have you looked on clubgp for the rockers upgrade? I could of swore there was a very good writeup on them.
no1kicker
Well John at least on my car, there's 3 bolts that hold the coils in place. Check this list, maybe there's something that helps. http://tacgp.clubgp.com/custom_mods/index.html
Brian P
The torque for valve covers is pretty low. They are aluminum on your engine right? It's somewhere in the neighborhood of 89 in.lbs but I just round up to 10 ft.lbs (120 in.lbs)
cutlsp
i think they are plastic just tighten them until oil doesn't leak out of them
Canada
The offical torque spec for 3.8L valve cover bolts is 89 lb in.

john99gtp
This should be about the same for the l67: http://www.clubgp.com/cgi-asp/mods.asp?modid=34 ya i was looking at that, but i dont know where the third bolt is... i think it might be part of the tensioner on the SC belt or something. it doesnt make itself obvious. also, its an inverted torx, so im gonna have to pick something up
5speedz34
When you mean inverted Torx you mean like a star bolt? You can usually use a regular socket on those.
john99gtp
yea, its really small though, i doubt i have a socket that small.
