91chevyluminaeuro Posted March 19, 2005 Report Posted March 19, 2005 Im having a problem with my O2 sensor (i think) there is a some hesitation when i try to accelerate uphill, i had a 91 grand am that had a similar problem, i found that O2 sensor easily and sprayed some carb cleaner on it to solve the problem, but where it the O2 sensor in my 91 lumina? btw its a 3.1 blah blah blah thanks Tony Quote
Robby1870 Posted March 19, 2005 Report Posted March 19, 2005 on the rear exhaust manifold. You'll see one green wire going to it. However, I wouldn't clean an O2, just replace it. Quote
1990lumina Posted March 20, 2005 Report Posted March 20, 2005 Yeah..they aren't to expensive so you might as well just replace it - Jeff L. Quote
mfewtrail Posted March 20, 2005 Report Posted March 20, 2005 You can place the tip of it(if it's not obvious, this is the side located inside the exhaust piping) in the flame from a propane torch to "clean" it. Doesn't hurt to try this if you have a torch handy, other then that, it's usually best to replace it. Quote
5speedz34 Posted March 20, 2005 Report Posted March 20, 2005 One tip- DON'T use Bosch 02 sensors! Quote
Tigershark Posted March 20, 2005 Report Posted March 20, 2005 How hard would it be to replace the O2 sensor on the 92 LQ1? Quote
gp90se Posted March 22, 2005 Report Posted March 22, 2005 Why do the Bosch O2's suck? because they dont work well in GM cars Quote
Tigershark Posted March 22, 2005 Report Posted March 22, 2005 So which brand of Sensor would you recomend? I think my sensor is also bad, i get lots of hesitation when i try to pick up speed. It stops doing it once I reach about 40, It feels as if one of my Spark plug wires were bad. but I just replaced them not more than two weeks ago, for the same reason, I also checked the plugs and replaced them. Still, it does it. :?: Quote
