MoTox8410 Posted March 15, 2005 Report Posted March 15, 2005 so as the title said my ABS engages below 10 MPH when i come to a stop...why is this??? Quote
3pt1lumina Posted March 15, 2005 Report Posted March 15, 2005 This is happening on a 2001 Silverado at work. It is going in for service on 3/17, I will let you know what it is on that vehicle. I know nothing about ABS, my best guess is there's a selinoid or something that went bad????? I'm sure someone with more know how can tell you more, but anyways, I'll let you know about the diagonsis on the work truck. Quote
supreme_style21 Posted March 15, 2005 Report Posted March 15, 2005 ABS wheel speed sensor may have fizzled. Quote
z34_nut Posted March 15, 2005 Report Posted March 15, 2005 commen problems, ABS pump, wheel speed sensor. Quote
MoTox8410 Posted March 15, 2005 Author Report Posted March 15, 2005 how much is a sensor about???i now remember being this problem on one of my freinds 97 pickup and the sensor was like $400 and he just unplugged a sensor and went without ABS Quote
z34_nut Posted March 15, 2005 Report Posted March 15, 2005 you can do that, but then you don't have ABS and down the road, it will get more expensive, it also depnds on who you go to. Quote
herb427sc Posted March 15, 2005 Report Posted March 15, 2005 Scan the brake system to find out the problem. If it is a wheel sensor, Clean the rust away where it is mounted. Rust build up is usually the problem. Quote
z34_nut Posted March 15, 2005 Report Posted March 15, 2005 Scan tool will not always tell you the immediate problem. unless its wheel speed sensor, it will pick that right up. Quote
