Cornerdealy
umm, did you buy a shorter belt? That's necessary when putting on a smaller pully...
pwmin
yeah, actually shorter than it says to (71") (gatorback); had a 71.5 inch (dayco polycog)before and did the same thing
pwmin
i think my harmonic balancer is going bad. i remember when i did the timing belt, the rubber part was coming out and i opted to not change it and check to see if it was ok. so hopefully that will fix it
no1kicker
ZZP makes a pulley for our cars? Didn't know that. Any more info?
digitaloutsider
I'm guessing he means the Bonneville in his sig. As far as I know, they make nothing for first-gen W's..

I see a riv in the sig but he talks about the timing belt so can't be the riv. I've never heard off zzp making pulley's for 1st gen's either. no1kicker
In that case, make sure you tightened the pulley properly. Sounds like it might not be on all the way.
RacerX
It is the correct pulley for your LQ1, right? Not to say that you would order the wrong pulley, but you could have been shipped the wrong pulley. I don't know if a '91-'93 pulley would fit a '94-'97, except that they're offset is different, which might this. Don't know how noticable it would be when installing the belt. pwmin
im not sure of the difference, but i measured it and compared it to the stock pulley and it seemed to be the same dimensions (obviously except the diameter of the pulley) and i know its on the whole way but i think its the balancer, but i guess i have to get that from gm since pam/factory and the auto parts stores cant get it.
