One bad Strut, should I get 2 new ones?

A strut went bad on my FFP's. I have already talked it over with Michael and things are settled there. It wasn't his fault it failed, nor mine.

I think the Chrome just didn't adhere totally to the shaft, so it then tore up the seal and the gas leaked out. I'll get a refund for it.

Here is my question

The Struts have over 3K miles on them. A guy at the parts store told me to get both new because even though there aren't that many mile on the good one, it is still hard on the suspention having a new and used one on there. Should I get 2 new or just one?

With only 3k on the strut, I wouldn't see the big deal just leaving it on there and just getting one personally.. they should last, what, 80k miles anyway right?

KYB's have a Lifetime Warranty anyway.

I know, but I don't want to spend another $50 to replace the good strut.

They'd never know, just tell 'em it makes funny noises.

I don't know about KYB, but lots of places warranty stuff like that, no questions asked.

If it was my car, I'd only buy one.....considering the age and reason for failure.

Um, my car only has 108K miles on it, and the last 8K took a year and a half to put on. IF you read above, it failed because of a fluke in the manufacturing process.

I would just replace the one, as it hardly has any mileage on it. Unless you can get the other one for free (warrantee?) I wouldn't pay for another, since it's so new. Hell, I drove for 4 years on SHIT frozen struts on my 88'!
