terryk2003 Posted March 9, 2005 Report Posted March 9, 2005 umm...does your blower motor run @ all!?...do the speeds change when you turn the fan up & down!?...does it blow HEAT out the vents!?... Quote
Bossman429 Posted March 9, 2005 Report Posted March 9, 2005 A new blower motor from a parts store usually runs about $50. I'd choose that over a used motor, unless money is really tight. Quote
1990lumina Posted March 9, 2005 Report Posted March 9, 2005 And if it blows good but just isn't blown any heat - that's a different problem! - Jeff L. Quote
DiscoStudd Posted March 9, 2005 Report Posted March 9, 2005 The fins of your AC's evaporator core could be plugged up with crud as well. I haven't had to clean one out on a W-Body yet (knock on wood) but it looks to me like it's a PITA because you have to do it from the inside of the car. On a J-Body or H-Body, you can easily access the evaporator under the hood after pulling out the blower fan (and contorting your arm inside the "air box.") Let's just hope you don't have a plugged evap core otherwise you're in for a hell of a job ahead of you! Quote
hannibal64 Posted March 9, 2005 Author Report Posted March 9, 2005 it has heat . the fan speed is stuck on low... its ECC so i might be in for a treat... thats why im just thinking its the motor. Quote
terryk2003 Posted March 9, 2005 Report Posted March 9, 2005 if the fan RUNS...its probably not the motor...there is a resister that makes the fans speed higher or lower...the fan itself is either ON or OFF... Quote
hannibal64 Posted March 10, 2005 Author Report Posted March 10, 2005 guess i need a service manual Quote
terryk2003 Posted March 10, 2005 Report Posted March 10, 2005 yeah...the problem may be in your controls themselves...or the resister that makes the speeds change... Quote
