GnatGoSplat Posted March 7, 2005 Report Posted March 7, 2005 :?: Pres·ton ( P ) Pronunciation Key (prstn) A borough of northwest England north-northeast of Liverpool. The Jacobites surrendered here after an uprising in 1715. Population: 132,166. I don't think you're supposed to change that. Quote
frank358fr Posted March 7, 2005 Author Report Posted March 7, 2005 Opps sorry this word is in french, Its the green coolant who go in the radiator?? You know?? Quote
GnatGoSplat Posted March 7, 2005 Report Posted March 7, 2005 If you want to do a simple drain and refill, there's a small faucet-like thing on the bottom of the radiator. I can't remember if it's on the passenger or driver side, but it faces the rear of the car. You turn it and the coolant will drain out. If you want to do a full flush, you'll have to tap a flushing "T" into a heater hose. Quote
White93z34 Posted March 7, 2005 Report Posted March 7, 2005 you don't make too much sense here :? Quote
frank358fr Posted March 7, 2005 Author Report Posted March 7, 2005 Ok thanks How i can do a full flush. I dont understand this sentence: If you want to do a full flush, you'll have to tap a flushing "T" into a heater hose. How I can do it?? Frank Quote
GnatGoSplat Posted March 7, 2005 Report Posted March 7, 2005 A flushing "T" is a T-shaped fitting that you plumb into the heater hose. Then you attach a garden hose to the flushing T and turn on the garden hose. It will cause all the old coolant to get flushed out the radiator cap. Prestone has a flushing T kit you can get from Wal-mart. It's not exactly the right size required for W-bodies, but I was able to make it work with some extra hoses I had laying around. It has some nice pictures on the back that will explain better what I'm trying to say. Quote
GP1138 Posted March 7, 2005 Report Posted March 7, 2005 It will cause all the old coolant to get flushed out the radiator cap. That sounds messy! Quote
GnatGoSplat Posted March 7, 2005 Report Posted March 7, 2005 Yeah, maybe better to do it at night so the neighbors don't see. It would be a good idea to catch it in a bucket and take it to the appropriate disposal facility. Quote

THe_DeTAiL3R Posted March 7, 2005 Report Posted March 7, 2005 I did a full flush by removing the T-stat, pulling the hose off the waterpump, and forcing water down the rad. Normally I would have opened the drain plug on the bottem of the rad, but the fucker broke off (I find this way faster and better anyways). Use some cheap radiator flush while you're at it. Quote
