Stealth
hey, I changed my tranny fluid about 8000 kms ago about 3 weeks ago I was driving then when it shifted the rpms started going all crazy and the car was "hopping" anyways I was about 1 1/2 litres low on fluid anyways I filled it and its been ok yesterday it started doign it again so I pulled over and filled what fluid I had left which was probably about 600 mls. anyways I dont think the pans leaking, so where sould it be leaking from , and could I just get some lucas to fix it? the trannys in pretty damn good shape you cant even tell it shifts alot of the time ita got 235000kms, thanks
AWeb80
make sure the bolts are tight on the tranny pan. Mine leaked half a quart out and i didn't know why, well i just checked the bolts and they were a tad loose. They just needed re-tightening after i changed the fluid i think. Canada
Also.......I hope you didn't tighten them to much, because if you used a new gasket you can squish it out and cause a massive leak. The torque spec is only 89 lb-in. Check your cooler lines too, they leak at times.
GP1138
Also don't rule out the transmission axle seals. Mine leaked only at idle and slow speeds, but it was enough that I had to refill my tranny fluid within a week of having filled it before. That was in my old 440T4/2.8 GP LE. Remember, when one goes, replace them both, because chances are once you replace one, the other will start leaking.

GP1138
See the end of that transmission, on the right? Your axle seal would go in that hole, and another on the opposite end of that straight line. Here's a transmission axle seal:
Canada
Look for the axles....
