2.8 and 3.1 Intake Manifolds the Same?

Hi all, I busted a plenum bolt off into my intake manifold on my 3.1 (93 Cutty). Then we busted the easy out into the busted bolt so now we can't get it out. Here's my question -- I have a 2.8 parts car (89 Beretta GT) is the intake the same on both of these motors? I don't want to spend the time taking the motor apart in the Beretta if they're not gonna be the same.

I thought I read that the only difference was in the block or the heads or something and that everything else (engine anyway) was the same.

Does anyone know for sure?

TIA,

Tom

The only difference there probably is that that 89 2.8 Lower intake is gonna have a tube coming from it, which is used for the PCV. Your 93 Lower intake is not going to have this tube, as your 93 has the PCV tube attach under the plenum. Otherwise the lower intakes are teh same. If your talking about upper intakes (plenums) the PCV differecne is there, as well as a possible EGR difference (vacuum and digital).

as far as the plenum goes, no they are not the same. pre '90 used different sized bolts. if you swap the plenum you'll need to swap the matching lower intake manifold as well, but if you swap it all you should be fine. as Robby said i think the PCV is located on the lower intake manifold on '89 and earlier cars. EGR shouldn't be a problem; i just went from digital to vacuum EGR and i didn't have any problems.
