hannibal64 Posted March 6, 2005 Report Posted March 6, 2005 I noticed when i give my car gas.. the oil gauge raises.. and frops when i let off the gas.. is this normal.. never noticed it in any other car... Quote
Robby1870 Posted March 6, 2005 Report Posted March 6, 2005 yes, when you press the gas, the cam turns faster, which is gonna turn your oil pump faster, making more pressure. As teh car warms up, you will see a lower and lower idle oil pressure. This is normal. The oil pump springs on 90+ 3.1Ls and 3100's allow for this. Pre-90 oil pump springs are like normal GM oil pump springs that sit at a constant ~40psi no matter how much throttle or how cold/hot the engine is. Quote
z34_nut Posted March 6, 2005 Report Posted March 6, 2005 well at least your gauge works, i take it your not driving a ford Quote
