tloftus Posted February 28, 2005 Report Posted February 28, 2005 Hey guys, last night I took apart my center console to clean all the dirt and grime out of the gear selector (1989 Olds Cutlass Supreme, 2 Dr., 4 speed automatic transmission). I had the clear piece of plastic that shows P / R / N / OD / D / 2 / 1 and wiped the back of it with a wet cloth and all the letters / numbers diappeared!! No chemicals / soap or anything! Anyway, I'm looking for a part number for this piece (no part number printed on it) and a cost if you have it, if not I can take the part number to the dealer. Thanks in advance! Tom Quote
Robby1870 Posted February 28, 2005 Report Posted February 28, 2005 Im gonna take a guess and say whatever part number that is, its discontinued. You're better of buying a used one from someone on this forum Quote
GutlessSupreme Posted February 28, 2005 Report Posted February 28, 2005 They just wiped off? That's great I'm with robby though, it's probably discontinued so you'll either have to find one on this board or head to a junkyard. Quote
Psych0matt Posted February 28, 2005 Report Posted February 28, 2005 mine wiped off too, made my own in publisher in about 5 minutes :-) Quote
tloftus Posted February 28, 2005 Author Report Posted February 28, 2005 I know where all the selections fall, I just wanted something stock. Oh well, I guess I'll go photoshopping tonight.. How about some carbon fibre background and Olde English font -- true gangsta. j/p T Quote
