GnatGoSplat Posted February 28, 2005 Report Posted February 28, 2005 It doesn't look THAT bad, I think it shouldn't cost much to get it repainted. Why not just take it to Macco? It's only a bumper I don't see how they could mess that up.... Actually, they can. If there's not enough flex-additive added to the paint, the paint will crack. Too much flex-additive, and the paint will peel. It has to be just right. I've read that it's easier to paint metal than urethane bumpers. Quote
jeremy Posted February 28, 2005 Report Posted February 28, 2005 just go find a white bumper in a yard, it shouldn't be that tough of a task... Quote
Jcrow Posted February 28, 2005 Report Posted February 28, 2005 $300 sounds fair, thats what I would charge. 1 - wash with soap & water 2 - wash with dupont 3900 (or a wax & grease remover) 3 - feather edge sand with 220 with a dual action sander or jitterbug sander 4 - go over entire bumper with 320 grit OR use 320 where you used 220 and red scratch pad the whole bumper 5 - wax & gease remover again 6 - They have a plastic prep but I just use alcohol to wipe down bumper 7 - mask & paint I use Dupont base clear paint and never used a flex additive. I think its for cheaper or differant types of paint. Quote
