I bought a DIC for my car and found out that my ext temp doses not work, because I have no external temperaure sensor? I orderd the part from GM directpart #16073050. Now I need to know where to place this sensor. LukeZ34 commented that it is under the hood latch. I have a 95 pontiac gp gtp. I looked today I did not see anything under the hood latch. Does anybody have pic of this part located on their car? THanks

This is uncalled for, you do NOT need 3 threads for the same subject. I am locking the other 2 you created, and leaving this one open since it explains exactly what you need. It makes it so much tougher for those of us trying to help you to keep track things when you create multiple threads like this.

If you bought the DIC and installed it in your car, you are not going to have the temperature sensor under the hood latch. Why? Because your car didn't have the DIC from the factory, thus no need to have the temp. sensor. This is why you can't find it. You need to buy the sensor and wire it up in the appropriate location. If you look, the wires for the temp. sensor may be taped up and hidden behind the bumper cover somewhere. If your car was wired for the DIC (which it obviously was) then the wires for the temp sensor should be there, it's just a matter of finding them.

The wires are not there in the '94-96 cars. The sensor goes near the center radiator support brace. You'll need to run your own two wires to tap into the corresponding wires in the DIC harness.

There ya go. I didn't know if they were there or not.

I accidentally clicked the wrong button and deleted your second thread instead of locking. I apologize for that.
