Robby1870 Posted February 26, 2005 Report Posted February 26, 2005 How hard are these to change? The ones are my STE have lost their clear coat, but the ones on my old 92 are perfect. Ive taken doors apart before and Ive seen the spot where the mirror/cover attaches via three bolts to the door, but is the mirror attached to the door or the cover? STE has power mirrors, 92 doesnt, but it shouldnt matter. Just wondering if anyone has replaced just the covers before. Quote
Dirty Rockstar Posted February 26, 2005 Report Posted February 26, 2005 The mirror is held in by 2 phillips head screws, IIRC.. Sometimes theyre rusted in like a bitch.. Good luck.. Hope this helps ya "giter done".. Quote
LukeZ34 Posted February 26, 2005 Report Posted February 26, 2005 I can remember from when I had my Lumina's mirrors (non-power) painted that the internal assembly came out via a few phillips head screws on the bottom of the mirror housing. On the TGP, there are no screws on the mirror housing, and the internal motors are screwed to some mounts inside the mirrors. This may just be the design difference between the metal housings on the TGP, and the plastic ones on the lumina. So to answer your question, the mirror is attached to the cover. Quote
THe_DeTAiL3R Posted February 28, 2005 Report Posted February 28, 2005 If it is the "mirror" part of the side mirror you are talking about, I had mine replaced at a glass place for like $20 including the part. Quote
