MaroonRegal
I'm test-driving a GP today, and it has a bad tranny. I think the car's an auto, but just in case I remember incorrectly, gimme tips for both trannies. The tranny only does 1st gear. No reverse and no other gears. What can I do to see if this is an easy fix?
Brian P
Unless the electrical connector is like.....sheared off, it probably won't be an easy fix.

Redwolf
Yeah, that does not sound good. At best, you have to replace the shifter. That's not too bad. At worst you have to have the transmission overhauled and/or replaced. That's really not good. From the sound of it, that last option might be the most realistic. Could also be that the hydraulic lines are busted, this happened to my parent's car a while back. But when that happened, the car was very sluggish to shift into neutral, and if given some more time it wouldn't have shifted at all (Well, it would have taken forever and a day at least).
