timg
Here's a link to my post on mymonte.com. I'll repost the text here, but the pics took way too long to get uploaded over there and it's not just easily transferrable html code. Enjoy! http://www.mymonte.com/shwmessage.aspx?ForumID=7&MessageID=215921 I have a lot of old threads on this and a bunch of scattered information, but no common thread with everything. IMO, this is almost perfect for a 3.4 DOHC turbo setup and is what I wanted from the beginning. Setup info T04E 60 trim turbo with tangential T4 exhaust housing Turbonetics Deltagate 5-7 psi wastegate 1st generation DSM BOV ADFX racing 1G DSM intercooler 7.5"x3"x24", 2.5" in/out http://www.adfxracing.com/default.asp?action=product&vehicle_id=2&category_id=2 with custom hood support welded from 1"x1"x1/4" angled steel Vortech 12:1 FMU Split Second FTC1 (ability to retard ignition timing and alter MAF signal based on boost/rpm) http://www.splitsecond.com Manual fan switches mounted in side of center console Redline Water Wetter 2.5" mandrel bent/press bent downpipe 3" with 12" Borla muffler to dual 2.5" with dual Magnaflow XL mufflers exhaust (3" highflow cat or 3" test pipe) Autometer Carbon Fiber a/f ratio and boost gauges in a custom molded Honda Accord 2 gauge pod MAF mounted before throttle body BOV mounted before MAF short radius rubber 3" 90 on end of turbo to 3" silicone 90 to filter in the fenderwell new windshield washer pump and reservoir Rebuilt transmission with all HD parts, transgo shift kit, and quad4 torque converter Boost comes quickly. From a stop it's at full boost in less than a second. The new intake is the ultimate setup IMO. I tried running 3" carb piping to a filter in the fender and also a 4"dia x2" thick 1bbl or 2 bbl carb filter directly on the turbo and neither flows nearly as well as this setup. Spool time increased significantly with the 4"x2" filter and ultimate power also suffered dramatically. The exhaust changed from a 2.5" to dual 2.25" press bent to a 3" to dual 2.5" mandrel bent setup. The new setup is far superior to the old one. The FTC1 is retarding timing by 1 degree at 7 psi and 1 degree per pound of boost above that. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I have some old videos and quite a few high res pics if anybody is interested. NOHC_WBody
I can hear that timing belt & 60-E screaming for mercy from here. It's cool as hell though....and yes, I'd love to see a video.

Intlcutlass
That engine is a natural candidate for boost.... I would like to know more about it. Especially the dyno
Aaron
That engine is a natural candidate for boost.... I would like to know more about it. Especially the dyno He is skipping out on the dyno, I think he is afraid of having my N/A Z34 nipping at his tail side lol he will be out of town on our March 19 meet, but he said over the phone he was hoping for 300+fwhp. mfewtrail
Awesome Tim. 8) BTW, is the T4 housing the one that is .63 A/R?
timg
Thanks! IIRC, it was 0.68. Tim

skalor
If you don't already have a filter on the BOV then I would put one on. That BOV is open under all vacuum conditions, so that's means that it's open when idling. Otherwise, I really like the setup and I love to see it. Are you going to the w-body or 60degreev6 meet this year?? 8)
timg
Thanks! The turbo took up where the stock battery and windshield washer reservoir went. The battery is in the trunk and I used an aftermarket windshield washer pump and reservoir. No filter on the BOV. I was worried about it being open at idle, but I've never felt any air being drawn through it? When and where are these meets? I might be able to make one or both. I really hope we do a meet in the summer in Denver. I'll be travelling quite a bit for work in the next 3 months, but after that I may have a bit better schedule.
