NOHC_WBody
classifieds tonight while looking at Cutlass Convertibles? Yes. It's listed as a "1995 Monte Carlo 82K, needs headgasket, 1500 dollars" I know I don't need a third car(4 if you count the wife's J-Body rollerskate) but I can't get it out of my damned head. Anybody want to talk some sense into me?
GP1138
No way. If it needs new headgaskets, lowball him at $1k. I was gonna pay $1k for a '98 MC that needed a lock cylinder. And it had ~125k on it too.
NOHC_WBody
With my luck it'll be a Z34. I'm gonna call tomorrow and offer a grand for it if it's an LS.
THe_DeTAiL3R
I don't find Monte's that special, especially '95s. They're big feeling. If it's a nice Z34 might be worth taking a look at though.
NOHC_WBody
I don't want a Z34. I've already done the 3.4 timing belt, transmission and alternator dance before with my 94' GTP.
Brian P
Iwouldn't pay more than $500 for ANY '95 Monte. I'd take a '94 Euro coupe over a '95 Monte any day of the week.
supreme_style21
Am I the only one that feels these cars, in non-running condition, no matter what year, make, model, or mileage, are worth like $300?

NOHC_WBody
Well, I called them just a moment ago, and got an answering machine. I left instructions to call back with the car's other details, trim level, etc.
jeremy
I wouldn't pay more then $500 for a 95 monte with a blown head gasket...

That's what I felt when I sat in a '04 Impala in the showroom. "I'll take it! But I won't pay a CENT over $300!"
NOHC_WBody
Well, I finally got an answer. It was a Z34. The grass in my yard/gravel in my driveway is safe from leaking fluids and whatnot out of it. As stated before, I'm NOT getting myself into another timing belt and alternator fight with a 3.4.
