Canada
To check the level just get the transmission warm (drive it) and on a level surface with the engine running and in park. It should be inbetween the hash marks. Light brown? Thats a weird color.....typically ATF darkness......its supposed to be a nice translucent red. Justin
It turns light brown when all the good additives in the fluid are gone. It turns dark when friction materials are burning off into it. Your fluid is old, that's all. You'd be better off changing it asap, just so your clutch packs and bands don't start suffering from the bad fluid.
THe_DeTAiL3R
It my owners manual it says let car run in park for 5 min shift through each gear check while it's running in park You'll get a good reading this way.
