TPS adjustment

grandprix89

Recommended Posts

hi ..my problem is the following, i messed up the setting on my adjustable TPS and i can't find the correct value to set it back at idle. the car is grand prix 1989 with the 2.8 L V6 engine. right now it's set at 0.47 V at idle(closed position) the runs very well when it's cold, but when it's hot and idling it shakes a bit i also got a rich exhaust code from time to time...code 45 i believe...so could anyone tell me what the correct setting is? i believe it's lower than 0.47 but i'm not sure how much...thanks a lot

As long as its below 1 volt.....thats fine. When the key is first turned on, the PCM understands that the throttle should be closed and makes whatever voltage the TPS is giving as 0% throttle.

Go here......

I'm willing to bet you've got a bad oxygen sensor......although it could be in other areas.
