Which color?!

  1. 1. Which color?!

i was thinking about repainting my car pearl white but didnt know if it will look ok a CS but i love it on a new Oldsmobile Aurora, and i was going to get a brand new Aurora in Pearl White but instead i got silver Mustang, but in couple years i will buy my future wife a White Pearl 2001+ Aurora. That car looses on its value so quickly so you can get almost new one for less then half of the price and its a sexy car.

i 1st wanted to vote for the navy blue - my car is that color and i really like it. but pearl white looks really nice too; i would go for white. you wouldn't even have to paint the door jambs or anything either. if i repainted my car i think i would pick the charcoal grey metallic on the new Mustangs, or a dark silver color.

If you can keep it clean I'd go with the White. I like the Blue better though for me. I'd tint the windows.

Long ago my brother had a 74 Ranchero that looked almost white but was blue tinted. It was really sharp, but it had blue graphics also.. Try looking for something like that for comparison.

I dunno yet if I like pearl white. Are they metallic? I'd like a "white metallic" but I dont want it to be so "pearl" that it looks like an extremely light beige. Im really considering the white used on 2002 chevy's and if the pearl is similar in overall color Id take that.

Do me a favor, this is the exact color I was planning on. Try to picture it as best as you can, or unless someone can photoshop this exact color on that white pic I have!

shit now that i see that its a tough choice....right now the only thing stopping me from saying u should still go with the white is that your car is already white. I think i would feel (i cant think of a good word) deprived after everything and i still have a white car, just nicer. its a complete toos up between the two. i say if u want a completely differnt look, go for the blue, something sharp then go for the white. Also, do either paintjob a favor and loose the white writing on the tire sidewalls

the writing will go NOWHERE! lol. Next tires will be true raised lettering (probably, I dont know) the thing is that I THINK based on some research I did, GM is now currently using my exact color white on new cars. I found my paint code (wa-8554) under 2001-2003. So WTF I may as well have my car color matched. Also as you said, if I'm going to go through 4 days of work to only have the same looking car except for white gound effects, I could just as easily paint the new GFX, bumpers, redo the hood and drivers door and call it a day! Still undecided

Now that i think about it, just do the friggin blue. It was what you were going to do originally and if you wanted white bad enough, touch up those spots on your car and just rip the ground effects off and do those. I think youll find it not worth your time and effort just to redo thoe whole car over again. im now putting in my official vote for blue and im not changing my mind......unless of course you decide to paint your car metallic black now  :naughty: :rocking:

Color change is a real pain in the butt if your particular. You have the inside of the trunk deck, hood, all the channels around the trunk seal , engine compartment and inside of the doors and door jams. I've done it it gets complicated thats a lot of stuff to scuff up right and its alot of fingertip work. Its also alot of tapping off . Not to bad if your doing a total restore and have most everything taken apart already. If you dont mind the inside stuff being a different color and with white its not too bad it will save alot of work. Its hard to do it that way though if say you were going from blue to red or green to blue, yikes. I have a 75 Delta 88 convertable that is white and I toyed with the idea of changing the color but decided I like it white. White with black top. Looks great. White is also a bit of a Oldsmobile color like the Hurst Olds.

Anyhow it would be bold and maybe way to bold for some but that car would look great white with the GFX painted that blue. Like I say no one would miss it. It would be bold. It would look great on the race track. Like the white with blue stripe Shelbys or Z28's .

My Regal is some sort of midnight blue metalic and looks great.

I vote for both.

Blue. Definantly. I like the DARK blue that is used on the 1998+ Pontiac Trans Am. THAT is a good blue.

I also say to go with a solid. Every Cutlass International that i see out there is the 2-tone, so do something differant

(I have onle seen 1 Cutlass international and 2 Cutlass SL's with gfx that were solid in color, and they ALL looked sweet).

The 2 tone color cars are too common.

I also like the Blue over the white because white is a color that is HARD to keep clean.

It does show the body lines better, but it will also show imperfections better.

Like I said before though, I dont know why everyone says white is hard to keep clean. White cars may show dirt, but dark cars show dirt AND hide the color. You can't really "hide" white because light is reflecting off it so much, as compared to a dark car that is "absorbing" light. I might end up sticking with white because even though I'll be doing a few things before spring break (IE paint the bumpers and ground effects) I'm still going to only have 4 days to do all of this, then it's back to work and school taking every damn second of my life away

and again i agree. ive owned 2 white cars, a dark green car, and for a long while used a light green car as a daily driver. The white cars to me seemed to just look better, produced better looking results when taken car of, and dirt was hidden a lot better. your also right about the way the light impacts a color. Back from 8th grade science we all should have had, the basic properties of light are a lighter color means more light is reflecting off it, while a darker color means little to no light is reflecting.

i will try this again. earlier i tried and well lost the site alltogether.

with the given color choices i lean towards the blue. reason is that my car is almost that color. i do like the all white international though.

tough choice with only two choices.

my fav car color is black. something that is really deep and black. something you can get a shine in it that seems to go for miles.

i know you can get almost all colors to shine well and look nice. i am a big fan of reflections in paint jobs. and well i know how mine looks after a wash and wax. it just looks nice as hell.

you already know about the extra work changing colors.

i think either color will look nice.
