thedeef
i saw somebody on here ages ago saying something about a controller he hooked up to his auto trans so he could decide when it shifts. if the real slim shady is still here, please stand up. any of you other guys know if this is possible? i know in the old days the auto tranny was all mechanically controlled but i didn't know if nowadays it's all electronic or what-not. deef

That was nifty, I think I'm gonna try to search for that.
runt
I know what you are talking about. I'll let you do the searching on it, but IIRC, whom ever was attempting this was just crossing the electric solinoids to make the car shift when he wanted it to. I believe there was a problem trying to get it to go from the 3-4 shift, but I could be wrong., This was over a year ago that I read this information. I'm sure with some research, it can be done. 99RegalGS
Ther person who did that was Brian89GP. He used to have it on his site but he removed it about a year ago. I tried something similar. I made a panel with 3 swtiches. 1 to control shift solenoid A, one to control shift solenoid B, and one for TCC control. I didn't get it to work right when I did it becuase I used the 3.4 transmission wiring and the 3800 wiring is different.
thedeef
i asked about this because my car always downshifts at really annoying times, and totally misses the spot where my engine really shines (between 2500-3750 rpm). i would like to avoid this if at all possible. deef
