90 Lumina exhaust upgrade

Just wanted to see what ya'll would think about a flowmaster muffler on a 90 eurosport sedan. I'm thinking about a 40 Series Delta Flow muffler because it doesn't have such a funky tone on a V6 as an american thunder muffler would. I mean I would love the american thunder muffler, but i'm two cylinders short. Any other muffler suggestions? And I think the pipe to my current OEM Muffler is 2.25" is that right? Thanks! 8)

yeah i think it is 2 1/4. There is no other muffler that would sound as good as a FM in my opinion. Some would say magnaflow, but i don't think so. I actually have to flowmaster 40 series delta flows in the boxes in my garage. I'll get them mounted up soon and let ya know, But many others have them and love them. later Jay

if you want flows go with em, but i think they're too raspy. plus they're not straight thru design, and its chambered as well. Magnaflows rock and I have Dynomax which is straight thru muffler, and i love it.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Flowmasters sound like cock on V6's.

:withstupid: ...flowmasters sound great on v-8's...but, sound like @$$ on a v6... ...i dunno...maybe with the right setup & some resonators or something, you could get it to sound good...BUT, i havent heard one that sounds good yet... :?

I believe my car is 2.25 from the down pipe to the cat and 2 all the way to the muffler. I have had a flow master on now for 3 years and I keep telling everyone that I will never get tired of the sound. Nice low rumble on idle and you hear me coming when i step on the gas. my Fiancé says she could always hear me coming down the road from inside her house. My only gripe is it sound raspy as hell when u accelerate cold, but once everything warms up it goes away. I say go with the FM 40 series with delta flow... best 45-50 bucks you could ever spend.

:withstupid: All I can say to anyone who thinks Flows sound bad on V6's is: you haven't heard my car.

Ok I listened to that Olds'. Sounds good but i'm wondering if any of you guys have had any luck with the 60 series muffler? I guess it's designed to be for a V6? Also what about that new Hush power muffler Flowmasters got? It looks like a straight through design. Thanks!

So how much did your whole set up cost you? and what exactly is your set up? if you don't mind me asking.

i've heard tony's car back when it was Turbodan's car and all i gotta say is it a very unique but great sound. i def prefer a turbo3.1 with straightpipes.

i'm going through the same thing right now with my 90 lumina making an exhaust decision. when the stock fell off i just added a 2 1/4 pipe.. sounds awesome but is illegal. let me know if u do choose the flowmaster and how it sounds, i gotta do something before inspection in april
