NORBI Posted January 14, 2003 Report Posted January 14, 2003 Hey i was just looking at your gallery and i see you really like Oldsmobies because i saw couple posters in your room i think of Bravada and Alero am i right/ Quote
ismellrealbad Posted January 14, 2003 Report Posted January 14, 2003 Olds is....err was a good company. Most of the pictures around my room i got at the NY auto show i think around 1998 or 99....When i went to the 02 year those fuckers were really stingy on posters!!!!! not a single company had them i asked all of them That envoy was a really phat SUV i love the interior of it. I like the alero's when they came out, i love the rims and overall design of it. Other posters i have are of an M3, and M5, and a 97 vett....i also have a diablo poster and boxter poster. I really dislike boxters but i have that poster up anyway Quote
NORBI Posted January 14, 2003 Author Report Posted January 14, 2003 I still have all the stuff from car show with oldsmobiles from 1992-1993-1995-1999-2001-2002 Quote
ismellrealbad Posted January 14, 2003 Report Posted January 14, 2003 U wanna goto the 03' show with me this april? Quote
ismellrealbad Posted January 14, 2003 Report Posted January 14, 2003 PS what the fuck am i talking about....in my other post i meant bravada (specifically the x-scape in teh poster) and not envoy. oops! Quote
NORBI Posted January 14, 2003 Author Report Posted January 14, 2003 yea probably i will go there in April with my gf and my friends so who knows we may meet eachother there, i hope Oldsmobile will still be there and do a miracle to comeback and start selling cars again. Quote
ismellrealbad Posted January 14, 2003 Report Posted January 14, 2003 yea im most def gunna go this year but im going to do 2 things differently than what i did last year. 1)go on a weekday afternoon and NOT on a saturday 2)NOT park in the lot directly infront of the fucking place so that i get charged $40!!!!! god i almost went broke that week because of that Quote
NORBI Posted January 14, 2003 Author Report Posted January 14, 2003 I always park at the parking lot that is only one block away from it and pay about 25$ for 3 hours, and i wish i could go there on a weekday but everybody is working and there is more traffic in Manhattan during weekdays, not saying that there is no traffic on weekends. 8) Quote
ismellrealbad Posted January 14, 2003 Report Posted January 14, 2003 im not concerned with the traffic in manhatten....there is always too much of it. What i am concerned with is enjoying my time there. last time i was there i did not at all because 9 out of every ten cars i went up to had a crowd of fucking people arund it so big that i either couldnt even see the car, would have to wait 20 minutes to sit in it, or there were just so many people in the damn building i couldnt even walk from car to car without being mobbed. it sucked so much. it the same reason why i will only go snowboarding at night on a weekday Quote
NORBI Posted January 14, 2003 Author Report Posted January 14, 2003 did you go last year because i went it i thought that it totally sucked, there was nothing interesting and i thought that the nicest car there was, was a Lincoln Mark IX but except for that i didnt see anything nice, and they didnt give anything for free. I hope this year it will get better and they will show more cars that you dont see on the roads. Quote
ismellrealbad Posted January 14, 2003 Report Posted January 14, 2003 Yep!....i was last year and you are totally right. just as i said before they didnt give jack shit out. I went there with the goal of doubling my car posters, and i came out with not a single one!!!! what the fuck? and nope there was nothing interesting either. When i went the best part was when i sat in the M5, and i didnt enjoy that too much either cuz 1)the shifter knob was off, and 2) the line was so long for people to sit in it i felt obligated to sit in it no longer than 10 seconds. I watched the guy talk about the new lexus, the one that looks like the Audi TT i think its the new SC coupe, I checked out the CL type S and NSX and i can bearly remember anything else from the show because i was too busy being trampled and pissed off from people and the fact i paid 40 fucking dollars to park. ugh Quote
NORBI Posted January 14, 2003 Author Report Posted January 14, 2003 I remember that Lexus it was red and i have pictures of the show, i think the ugliest cars were Lincoln Towncar and new Acura SUV?? they had a lot of ugly cars and most of the cars were locked that you couldnt even sit in them, only posters i got were of Camaro SS and that was it. Oldsmobile didnt even try putting their cars out, they had a base version of Alero and Aurora you couldnt even get into (i love that car) and when i tried to get in it alarm sounded and security asked me what i was doing. (Geeezzz) so i was really dissapointed with last years show. Quote
ismellrealbad Posted January 14, 2003 Report Posted January 14, 2003 The first weekday that show is open is when i will be there. im sure they were just simply out of all the posters cuz i did go on the second to last day it was open. Much less people and all the free goodies i can get my grubby little hands on. Hey Brian......u live closeby, you should join us! Im sure theres plenty of other people here in NY and NJ im not thinking of right now Quote
NORBI Posted January 14, 2003 Author Report Posted January 14, 2003 Last year and 2 yers ago i took my Cutlass COnvertible to NY and was driving with a top down (god i loved that thing) and i wish i could do that this year too, GOd i miss that car a lot during nice weather, but one day i will get one again after i make my 88 look like a 92+. I even have a picture of me in a car show in NY standing next to a while Cutlass Supreme Convertible just like my was back in a 92. Those were sweet cars. Quote
ismellrealbad Posted January 14, 2003 Report Posted January 14, 2003 ive only been there twice one in 97 or 98 with my parents and once with a couple friends last year. i must be an idiot but i just realised now i can test drive cars. ive been 18 for 8 months now and the thought never really struck me. i guess i was always worried a dealer would give me shit cuz they know im not gunna buy anything but i think for the cars i wanna drive like a maxima, grand am, grand prix they might let me BTW...which autoshow is technically bigger, or the most significant? The one in detroit or the one here at jacob javits center? Quote
