Carotop
Ok my cutty has been tryin on and off to overheat the last week or so. If I turn the heat off and turn the A/C on it goes down. I know the radiator needs to be flushed but do ya think that might be the issue?
DiscoStudd
I'm thinking your coolant sensor might need replacing, seeing as when you turn on the AC the temp goes down (when you switch on the AC, the radiator fans turn on.) I won't fault the relay seeing as the fans actually do turn on when you switch on the AC. Your radiator could also be knock knock knockin' on Heaven's door. The thermostat might be stuck closed, too. Even if the radiator is scaled up pretty bad, it still shouldn't be close to overheating in cold weather. Might want to check the water pump while you're at it. And flushing the coolant definitely won't hurt. A cracked head or cracked block could also cause the car to overheat...
Schudini
At the risk of being embarassed  I had that problem too (however I am in Florida 8) ). When my radiator hose burst, I replaced it and filled it up with coolant --- straight coolant that is. I THOUGHT I bought the premix stuff. No biggie and an easy fix. Carotop
Well I'm gettin the oil change this week sometime. I'll have to mech check it out. And the reason I'm gettin my oil changed somewhere is because I don't have access to a shop anymore
DiscoStudd
And the reason I'm gettin my oil changed somewhere is because I don't have access to a shop anymore Well don't be embarassed by that. I don't have a garage (or anywhere sheltered) and I damn sure don't like crawling under the car in the winter if I don't have to, so I take my car(s) in to get the oil changed in the winter months. Summer's a different story, and I figure 2 or 3 oil changes a year by Jiffy Lube won't harm my car any (I just hate when they try to sell me shit that I don't need, like I'm some kind of clueless dummy, just because I go there for an oil change...)
