mfewtrail Posted January 14, 2003 Report Share Posted January 14, 2003 Just wondering what everyone actually did that "gutted" their airbox.....and yes I've read the whole air box vs. conical filter intake thread(s) and I am undecided until I dyno my own car(possibly doing this in May..since I'll hopefully have everything done by then)....thanks for any pics and btw....I'm thinking of a setup similar to the Thrasher one with the clear(I'll be using plexi glass if I do this though ) top..keyword: THINKING...lol Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Posted January 14, 2003 Report Share Posted January 14, 2003 On the V6 (non-turbo) box, I modified my v6 DOHC box by cutting the top of the tube inside the box to allow air to flow more readily accross a larger surface area of the filter. This also allows more engine noise to escape to our ears. :x My 3.4 had been running out of steam way too early, and I found the culprit was a shrunken inlet cone going to the box. I contorted it to stay at its maximum inside diameter, and with the help of a drop in K&N it then pulled to the stratosphere. :x Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
