KING JOKER Posted January 25, 2005 Report Share Posted January 25, 2005 i have a 92 cutty coupe and just got 2 new leather headrests out of a newer lumina. the problem that i am having is i cant get the old headrests out of the cutty . i go to pull them out and they stick at the end like there is a plate holding them inon the inside .. any help is appreciated Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

DiscoStudd Posted January 25, 2005 Report Share Posted January 25, 2005 You have to stick a flat piece of metal (like a "slim jim") down the front of the bar and into the seat. That's supposed to unlock the headrest so it'll pull out. I think a piece of metal strapping or banding will work fine... Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

There's also a relatively cheap tool meant to do that purpose for sale at your auto parts store. It's really just a flat piece of metal, but it has the right shape to block the catch, too.
