Vegeta
What are you looking for exactly as far as proven performance.
Vegeta
Oh, and I swapped my own DOHC/5 speed in. 1600 bucks....fuck, ill do that! Its not an easy swap but its far from impossible. I wonder if that shop knows they have to pull the entire dash out to swap the firewall plate.
GnatGoSplat
3.6VVT should bolt up to a FWD tranny, but it's not going to have the accessories and timing cover arranged properly, so fitment will probably be difficult. I'd wait and get a 3.9VVT out of a transverse car. BTW, Caddy 4.9L has nothing to do with a Northstar.
jimraelee
I hear a lot of guys wanting the L-67 S/C (not for me, I've had 3 and they suck) Ahhh why do you say the suck so bad???? lots of aftermarket parts out there and lot of people that have worked with these engines??? Bossman429
BTW, Caddy 4.9L has nothing to do with a Northstar. True Dat! I believe the Northstar is a 4.6L? The 4.9 was the older (90-94?) Caddy V8 that said PFI on the valve cover, and had the oil filter near the top of the trans. He must have cross bread the two when he said that
mihela816
The 3.6VVT is going to be somewhat difficult to install on a first gen. It has electronic throttle control and returnless fuel injection, seperate exhaust manifolds and cats for each. It is probably possible, and hopefully someone will have the balls (and the resources) to try it soon.
