Got my custom exhaust done on the CS... best part was, it was free! all I had to do was drive down I295!

:P

I picked up the muffler after I took it off.. and all I heard was rattling/crumbling noises inside.. thing's toast.

I probably won't fix this until I sell it, though I already feel bad about driving through residential areas at night (just wait til the TGP's on the road.. it's even louder!)

I love the sound of my car now 8)

Ha, the same thing happened to my dads car a couple years ago. First it rusted apart in the same spot. Then my dad pulled the muffler off by hand because of the rust. A couple days later, it rusted on another section of the pipe. So it had a peice of pipe hanging on the car, but it was also scraping across the ground. I drove it around like that for another couple of days  . Then that peice finally fell off somewhere.

does it sound raspy or just ghetto?

only rasp I've heard is right after it bounces off the limiter in neutral. not at any other time. From about 1900-2400 rpms it's deep and loud as fuck... I've actually stopped flooring it all the time some what so I can just listen to the thunder i'm making down low 8)

Hmm, where on 295 can you get this? I'd imagine a free custom exhaust would be worth it.

 lol it happened right after the northbound split.. I hit the gas and suddenly it was loud as hell  I thought I had entirely lost the muffler, hadn't occured to me that the two supports were still there. Knew it was just a matter of time before the pipe finished itself off though :D

brief clip

my camera cut off before it hit the limiter.. thing only can take like 15 sec vids.. sound quality isn't the greatest either but you get the idea.

Both GPs Ive had, right at that same spot, the pipe has always wanted to come loose there.

My 88' came loose at that spot, with no mufflers connected the 2.8 sounded ricey loud... like ASS. Sheetmetal, muffler cement, and a huge ass clamp solved that problem  (stupid muffler shops said they couldn't weld the rust and I needed new mufflers/pipe)

yeha the same thing happened to both the 89 internationals ive owned. broke in the same place. sounds kinda cool but it makes a hell of a racket around 2 to 3000 rpm. i just zip tied the muffler back up so it sat even on my old one but i welded the it back up one my current one. loud exhaust gets really annoying after a while.
