90lumina3.1 Posted January 13, 2003 Report Posted January 13, 2003 anyone here experience not being able to get into the acc position? my car (90 lumina euro 3.1) is very strange, and will only go in once in a rare while. it also occasionally sticks in the start position. any ideas? if not, where can i get a new ignition switch?? thanx in advance Quote
toastemcutlass Posted January 13, 2003 Report Posted January 13, 2003 your tumblers might be worn weird my friend broke the key off in his and so he got one from auto zone for about 30. you will need to get a steering wheel remover. Quote
Robby1870 Posted January 13, 2003 Report Posted January 13, 2003 yeah your tumblers in your key mechanism, are probably worn. I had to replace my mechanism, b/c my key would not turn at all!! And it locked up the day of my prom!! How funcking coincidental is that, anyway, it was like a hundred dollar repair, the car had to be towed. Mine had the symptons you are describing, then all of a sudden, it just wouldn't turn. Quote
